[And skate sharpening too!!]
We are a repair shop that focuses on basic repairs for commuter, road, hybrid and mountain bikes as well as skate boards, long boards, and a newly added skate sharpening service! We focus on the promotion of social, environmental and economic sustainability through its internal operations and community outreach programming.
We provide access to our tools for a small fee so if you know how to fix it but just don’t have the right wrench, we’ve got you covered! Throughout the year we will have a selection of refurbished bikes and new longboards for sale so keep your eyes peeled for your perfect match! Bike parts and accessories such as tubes, locks, lights and bells are also available for purchase.
Volunteering with Bikes & Boards is not only a rewarding experience, but an educational one. It is a no-experience necessary position where you will be given the opportunity to learn how to repair bikes and boards, improve sustainable transportation on campus, and interact with other volunteers. In addition, many volunteers use the knowledge they have acquired working at the shop, and the tools available for them to work on bike or long board projects of their own.
Volunteer responsibilities include:
The time commitment for this position is approximately 2-4 hours per week. Applications open on the AMS apply website February 28th, and close March 9th. If you are interested and have any questions about volunteering, please contact our head manager Lang Bunka at firstname.lastname@example.org .
